1. Quality

Quality management is central to all our activities. We endeavour to provide our clients with a truly professional approach to project delivery.

It is our policy to provide superior service to our clients by understanding and responding to their needs and expectations, and to systematically manage our projects.

Our comprehensive quality systems provide objective and thoroughly documented evidence of a project's conformance to all regulatory and contractual obligations.

Quality Policy

The nature of our operations places particular emphasis on our multi-disciplinary expertise, reliability, quality of work and safety.

Global Concord therefore strives to:

With a view to meeting these goals and objectives, it is the policy of our company to:

  • Assign sufficient resources to enable us to provide the desired level of service to our clients and achieve the required quality standards
  • Operate effective approved quality management systems within an integrated management system framework
  • Establish and implement project specific quality plans to reflect and achieve clients’ expectations and needs
  • Extend awareness, acceptance and implementation of quality systems to our sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Provide appropriate training to employees and sub-contractors in the operation of quality management systems to improve our service to clients
  • Ensure all employees are competent to do their jobs and are encouraged to participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Set targets and review results at defined intervals with the aim of continually improving our performance
  • Target the reduction of remedial and abortive work
  • Target the reduction of wastage of material resources

2. Health & Safety

Occupational health and safety is a priority for us and our safety record is a key competitive advantage.

We are committed to providing a safe, healthy and positive working environment for our employees and those under our care.

Our aim is to eliminate all class one accidents (an accident that results in fatality or permanently alters a person's life) and to minimise, and ultimately eliminate, all lost-time accidents on our sites.

Safety management committees, comprising senior and middle management, are responsible for monitoring safety performance in each country. The committees undertake monthly safety audits of every project to ensure their compliance with the safety policy.

Every site employee must undergo a safety induction prior to commencing work.

Many of our projects have achieved millions of man-hours without lost-time injuries

Occupational Health & Safety Policy

Global Concord is committed to achieving a high standard of occupational health and safety by striving to achieve the following objectives:

  • Elimination of Class 1 personal damage at our worksites
  • Systematic reduction of Class 2 and Class 3 personal damage at our worksites
  • Compliance with all relevant legal, contractual and regulatory obligations
  • Occupational health and safety is to be regarded as a prerequisite in all operations, in order to ensure work is carried out in a safe manner.
  • Senior management is committed to planning, organising, monitoring reviewing and improving our safety performance by setting annual safety targets that we must work hard to achieve.
  • Global Concord requires all its operating divisions to develop, implement and continually improve relevant management systems, within the corporate framework.
  • It is also a requirement that each employee is made aware of their individual health & safety responsibilities, promotes and implements this policy, and extends the awareness, acceptance and implementation of our health & safety system to our sub-contractors, suppliers, customers and the communities associated with our business.

3. Environment

We are aware of the impact our work can have on the environment, and as such environmental management forms an important element of our project management and reporting systems.

We adhere to a strict environmental policy that ensures we comply with all relevant environmental laws and regulations; take all practicable steps to prevent pollution in our activities; and conserve resources through the efficient use of energy and materials.

Our experience in this area enables us to advise clients on environmental aspects of their projects and help them find cost-effective solutions to potential problems.

Environmental Policy

  • Systematically manage our environmental performance on projects
  • Provide appropriate training for our employees and sub-contractors to improve awareness and knowledge of their environmental obligations
  • Set targets and review results on a regular basis with the aim of continually improving our environmental performance
  • Provide sufficient resources to enable us to achieve our environmental objectives

Each employee is expected to promote and implement this policy and extend the understanding and acceptance of the policy to our suppliers, sub-contractors and service providers

4. Community Relations

Global Concord understands that wherever we operate we are guests of the local community. We recognise our obligations to the community and are committed to taking a socially responsible approach to our business.

We endeavour to minimise the impact of our work on local residents and their environment. We encourage communication and consultation with the local communities affected by our work and aim to address their concerns.

Community Relations Policy

It is our policy to:

  • Minimise the impact of our work on local communities and their environment
  • Be sensitive to the different cultures, languages and religious beliefs of the communities in which we operate
  • Incorporate community relations into the project planning process
  • Identify and address the concerns of local communities
  • Encourage communication and consultation with local communities affected by our operations
  • Support local charities and community groups through sponsorships and donations where possible and appropriate
  • It is a company requirement that each employee adheres to this policy. By doing so, we are able to ensure we make a positive contribution to the communities in which we work.

5. Ethics & Business Conduct

Global Concord strives to maintain the highest ethical standards in everything.

All our employees are required to adhere to strict company codes of Ethics and Business Conduct which set standards of conduct for all business dealings, particularly with external parties including clients, business partners, suppliers, sub-contractors and the general public.

Amongst other things, the codes state that each employee must at all time: comply with the law; act honestly and with integrity; provide our clients with a truly professional approach to contracting; and endeavour not to place themselves in situations that result in divided loyalties.

Ethics Committees, comprising senior executives and independent directors, meet on a quarterly basis to review and discuss ethical issues arising from the previous quarter.

Code of Ethics

The directors and employees of Global Concord are bound by the Group’s code of ethics, and are expected to:

  • Comply with the law
  • Act honestly and with integrity
  • Endeavour not to place themselves in situations that result in divided loyalties
  • Be responsible and accountable for their actions
